Poor National Memory Has a High Price

People don't remember the meanings of WWII, The Civil War, and least of all, the Revolutionary war. They occurred too far in the past.

The framers, the founders, and the citizens of the newborn nation had just fought their way out from under the control of a King that taxed them to oblivion. They were not separatists. They only wanted fair and equal treatment under the law. Having just won independence, though, they wanted to preserve the rights they sought and fought to acquire for everyone.

Today, the noisiest factions of our society are clamoring for a king. We have forgotten our origins. Unless those of us who do remember our origins and understand what it cost, step forward to reclaim this great nation, I fear we will be enslaved by our own government before clarity and reality sink in again. By that time, we will have a civil war on our hands--the likes this country has never known.
